i just saw Pearl Harbor and i feel the need to express somewhere my absolute disgust at the abomination which dares call itself a movie! it was shameful shameful shameful. Rarely have i seen such blatant americanised pap and shameless use of overly emotional music to turn what is essentially a racist, narcisistic and propaganda-packed story into a pathetic love-story. it was definitely a tearjerker.. but i think i was crying for different reasons... what kind of world is this where millions upon millions of dollars can be spent on THAT... (i think i did very well to get to the end of this message without swearing.. my teeth are gritted) does anyone feel the same way about this terrible movie?

The middle bit was good I thought, but then the rest of it was pretty shameful.

I didn't even bother going...Same reason i never saw Jurasic Park...A lot of times you can just tell when a movie is gonna be crap. You should never have any hope for blockbusters anyway, they are lowest common denominator...

    Thumbs up

pearl harbor wasn't concerned with paying tribute to the men and women who died there, it was concerned with making more money tan TITANIC, which did pay tribute to the men and women who died on it. it didnt have a heart. it was awful. michael bay is a bad filmmaker. and ai was good but i guess everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

Whoah Whoah! Slow down there sonny. Michael Bay is not a bad filmmaker. He was just the wrong kind of filmmaker to be making that sort of movie.

Bad Boys and The Rock are both solid action movies. I can't find fault with them.

Armageddon - not too brilliant. Pearl Harbour I just steered clear of. I will probably buy the DVD and then sell it again once I've watched it.

    Cool

I've said it before and I'll say it again - there has been one good film in the cinema this year, and that is Traffic.

    The rest --

    Jurassic Park 3
    Tomb Raider
    The Hole
    Hannibal
    Charlie's Angels

    and YES Pearl HarboUr

    ...are terrible, terrible, awful films.

Pearl harboUr and Armageddon are both equally wince-inducing.

Recently I read on the FOX website (joy) that "industry analyst experts" said A.I. was doing poorly because summer audiences don't like to "think" when they go see a movie.

First of all, A.I. grossed 80 million in the US, which means like 400-600 million worldwide, not to mention the demographics from merchandising.

Second, A.I. sucked because it was a manipulating, derivative piece of shit that makes people feel bad about themselves.

Last but not least, let's thank the industry experts for really knowing what we all want: Britney Spears to win an Oscar.

(if the industry analysts ever actually read this, that was intended as sarcasm. I would much rather see Britney in the shower)

They should have stoped the film after the bombing of pearl harbor. That would have been so effective emotionaly. But no, they had to show America coming out on top. Also, Bay undercranked too much for my taste.
